Essex Wedding Venues we love!

text of wedding venues in essex we love

We are lucky enough to work in some gorgeous wedding venues. I've already highlighted some Kent venues we love in a previous blog but now it's time to look at some wedding venues in Essex with some of the most diverse and beautiful venues we have worked in. Here are our current top 5! Honestly as with the Kent list it is very hard to narrow down just 5 venues as there are so many more we love as well!

Chalkney Meadows Wedding Venue view from lake

Based near Colchester, Browning Bros boasts two sites and is a rustic haven that offers couples the chance to tie the knot in a relaxed atmosphere. Chalkney Water Meadows is hidden away amongst ancient woodland next to a picturesque river and a tree-lined lake. Teybrook Orchard (where I coincidentally glamped many years ago with my now husband) Teybrook Orchard is an intimate woodland venue that is hidden away from the world. Both provide a beautiful backdrop for your celebration, whether you're planning an intimate gathering or wedding on grand scale. They both include accommodation in the form of glamping tents and other quirky dwellings! We have glittered at both sites and love them both equally.

Leez Priory- view from the front

Prepare to be swept off your feet at Leez Priory, a historic Tudor manor house that oozes fairytale romance. With its stunning location, beautiful gardens, and a choice of ceremony spa

ces, this venue has everything you need to make your wedding day feel like a true fairy tale. We've been lucky enough to attend a wedding here as a guest as well as glitter here in one of our first post Covid weddings in 2021. This is a truly beautiful venue with so much choice and space for your guests. I can also personally confirm the on site accommodation is so comfortable, you won't want to leave!

Tuffon Hall Vineyard- ceremony set up in the barn

If you and your partner share a passion for wine, Tuffon Hall Vineyard offers a unique setting for your special day. The staff here are brilliant and Sarah is a joy to w

ork with. Their bright, airy and rustic barn is the perfect venue for your wedding and wedding breakfast, with a chance for photos amongst the vines! The wine is pretty good too I have to say and it makes it extra special you can serve wine to your guests that has come from the vines on site. We were there again recently for their brilliant Jazz in the Vines event and we can't wait to go back!

Houchins venue- view from the garden

For those seeking an elegant but naturally beautiful venue, Houchins is the one to choose. This stunning Grade 2* listed Georgian farmhouse offers a mix of traditional charm and modern luxury, with its beautiful gardens and intimate ceremony spaces providing a sense of seclusion and tranquility. We glittered there earlier this year on one of the hottest days of the year in June and we had such a brilliant time.

If a coastal vibe is more your style, The Canary Shed is the place to be. With its stunning waterside location and a quirky, industrial-inspired interior, it's perfect if you are looking to add a touch of chic, relaxed charm to your special day. Jade and her team are fantastic and so organised! We've glittered there numerous times over the years and each time it has been fantastic and every wedding different! One of my favourite venues and I particularly love the goats in the field by the car park! We are back there in November for their wedding showcase so hopefully I will see some of you there!

Each of these wedding venues has its own unique appeal, and wherever you choose, your wedding will be a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Happy wedding planning and stay sparkly! 💍🎉
